The problem of the sewage system and other issues in the offices of the Ghana Education Service (GES) Takoradi Sub-metro at Windy Ridge has been ongoing for over seven years.
Despite reporting the issue to the Sekondi Takoradi Metropolitan Assembly (STMA) management team, a solution has not been implemented during this extended period.
GNA, Rent Control, Hydrological Department, and other agencies occupy the same building.
This has left the staff with no choice but to walk half a kilometer to Cape Coast Lorry terminal to attend to nature’s call or use other means.
Kyzzfmonline took up the matter and engaged in discussions with the sub-metro directors of STMA and Effia-Kwesimintsim Municipal Authority (EKMA), leading us to Madam Eugenia, the sub-metro environmental officer of STMA, for further investigation.
On Thursday, 6th July 2023, Madam Eugenia visited the block of offices after a day's notice, but the lack of flowing tap water hindered her attempt to test the sewage system.
In addition to the sewage system problem, the building also suffers from deep cracks in the walls and severe leaking.
It's evident that this is a longstanding issue that has persisted for far too long without resolution.
Kyzzfmonline will continue to monitor and provide updates on any progress in addressing these longstanding problems.
